'99 G. Marquis Front & Rear Brakes
5/7/10
Applied anti-seize compund to the caliper bracket bolts, lubed the slide pins and reinstalled the bracket. Then, we opened the box of pads and found one pad was wrong! I'll deal with Rock Auto about this later.
While I torched and beat the caliper bracket bolts on the driver's side, Eric headed off to Advance Auto Parts and picked up a set of Wearever Silver Brake Pads, $25.99. If they function OK, without squealing for 90 days, I'll keep them. If not, I'll replace them with the Raybestos pads from Rock Auto. These pads will fit our other cars, so leaving them on the shelf isn't a big waste, if we end up keeping the Wearever pads. |
